| Grading comment Many thanks! Because of contextual matters, I took it for a colloquial figurative expresssion (not untypical of Danish medical reports), but see that it's to be taken literally after all.

I did not want to use the word "pain" (I think it would be a mistranslation).
And throbbing throat gets quite a few results in Google seach
