Danish to English translations [Non-PRO] Medical - Medical (general) | | Danish term or phrase: nokset | Used twice in a case history of chromic acid poisoning treated with haemodialysis.
"Akut hæmodialysebehandling for om muligt at fjerne nokset, før der har forvoldt skade, synes tidligere kun forsøgt i ét tilfælde."
"Dette skyldes formentlig at disse forgiftninger er karakteriseret ved, at nokset bevæger sig fra plasma til intracellulærvæsken."
Anyone come across this before? Most Google results in Danish appear to be typing errors for "nok set" or "vokset".
It makes sense to translate it as "noxious substance", but that could of course be a false friend.

| | Noxious or harmful substance | Explanation: I think you must be right - that was my first thought.
Klinisk Ordbog has:
noxa (lat.) nokse: skadelig faktor.
So in principle it does exist in that sense. |
