I might write ´maintaining the group in its present constellation´.
It suggests that each member is something special as well as one of a team. It is not a common Danish expression, and I might try to find an equivalent expression that was not entirely conventional.
It would have to fit in with the rest of the text, however, and not disturb the flow.
