In my experience, although 'emission' and 'radiation' may be linguistic synonyms, in practice, 'emission' is usually used in the sense of transmission of electromagnetic radiation(!) when the focus is on the information content of the transmission. 'Radiation' is more often used either by physicists or when the focus is on health aspects of the e.m. transmission. |
