Jeg er ikke stødt på noget "offensive" i dit spørgsmål, men derimod en mulig oversættelse fra Clausens tekniske ordbog:
bakke¹ s

(= træbakke, hvori en langline ligger) tray
4. VÆRK (i skruestik o.l.) jaw
(til gevindskæring) die

Men jeg må lige nævne, at jeg IKKE har forstand på fiskeri...

Explanation:
I have checked this with Vinterberg and Bødelsen and as far as I understand that is what it is. I have also checked with Politikens Ordbog which confirms it is where sailors get together to eat. As far as I can see this is not an offensive term. I have also used this term in my seafaring days meaning the above.

Jeg slog det op igen i min udgave af Politikens ordbog og der stod forskellige definitioner. Den ene var \"en lang fiskeline med kortere linr der bærer kroger\" på engelsk hedder denne slags fiskeri \"long lining\"( jeg har fået den bekræftet med en som er kendt med fiskeriet).

Den anden er som jeg skrev \"et hold af matroser der spiser sammen\" og jeg ved bare at det er \"mess\". Det er jeg helt sikker på.
