Danish term or phrase: kunne oenske...ville veje.....lige så hoejt
Part of a short document on a PC order for schools. Full sentence is a follows:
'Vi kunne oenske, at private virksomheder også ville veje ergonomi, miljoerigtighed og genbrug af IT-delene lige så hoejt'
Sorry to put so many words in one question! Is it: 'would like...'..'to consider/think about'...'just as much/to the same extent'?
I need to make sure I don't alter the actual meaning by the way I express it in English.
Suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks, Helen

English translation:would like to see/wish ... would prioritize ... just as highly
Explanation:
'Vi kunne oenske'is a sort of polite way of saying 'we wish'.An equivalent is perhaps 'We would like to see them prioritizing' ...(but they don't)

at private virksomheder også ville veje ergonomi, miljoerigtighed og genbrug af IT-delene lige så hoejt'

'at ... ville veje ' that they would attach just as much importance / high priority to ergonomics, environment friendliness and recyclability as ...'

veje højt - give priority to. Danes use 'højt' as a reinforcing word meaning to a large extent, a lot, etc. where you can't always just use 'high' in English.

Priority implies 'højt' by itself. - 'high priority' is appropriate here in the comparison, presumably with cost.

I hope this isn't confusing at this time of night!

Many thanks, CR! Your answer is very useful, as I suspected there may be some emphasis used somewhere - I've just never seen a Danish sentence like this before.
Much appreciated. :)
