Your first comment - Other income: the return of the T/over tax is made in cash/transfer to bank account and is therefore a current asset entry. It is not an income but an asset that is being returned (cash). Your second - it is referred to as a STATEMENT of income and expense or in the good old language Profit and loss account. Not all accounts show the same layout/terminology. It depends very much on the type of NGO and the importance of each account. With some, salaries maybe a minor expense while with others transportation may be a dominant expense.

Profits doesn't really sit well with me as this is an NGO. I'm unsure about assets, because they use the word baten many times and asset doesn't always seem right to me. Another reason is that when I look at the annual account of another NGO, see link below, they also don't use the word asset but income. Examples below.

- Onder ‘other income’ is een bate opgenomen van xx uit hoofde van een teruggave omzetbelasting over xx en xx. (asset? Sounds like an income / gain to me)

- Met name de indeling van de staat van baten en lasten geeft een andere indeling dan xx.
