my two cents' worth Explanation: Ik denk dat dit heeft te maken met het feit dat eerste publicatie in de wetenschap momenteel gelijkstaat aan het 'verkrijgen van de eer voor de ontdekking'. Wie het eerst komt, het eerst maalt dus. Probleem: niet te lang wachten, want misschien komt iemand anders er dan eerder mee, maar ook niet te snel publiceren want dan krijg je fouten. En bovendien, vooral niet alles blootgeven want dan gaat een ander er misschien mee vandoor. De gangbare afrekenmechanismen hebben dus mijns inziens te maken met hoe dit probleem momenteel wordt benaderd (en opgelost?) door de wetenschappelijke gemeenschap. Beste vertaling? Ik hoop dat iemand anders daarmee komt, in de tussentijd is iets met 'current publishing procedures in the scientific community' of 'accountability and claim mechanisms' wellicht een oplossing. As far as I can make out in the various contexts that I've read containing "afrekenmechanisme" it seems almost always to relate to a form of incentive or leverage on somebody or something to do something that you want them to do or else you will pay them back in whatever way. hence "afreken" Just a thought zzzzzzz |
