Dutch term or phrase: Publieke werken en Openbare werken

Bedankt.

public works and infrastructure services
Explanation:
Admittedly a somewhat artificial distinction, but the distinction in Dutch strikes me as being rather fine if not equally artificial.

If you google "public works" + department + infrastructure you'll find lots of sites explaining that infrastructure is one of the concerns of a public works department, and a PWD could concievably have a 'public infrastructure' subdepartment (anything's possible in a well-organised bureaucracy).

Good luck!

neutral  Lawyer-Linguist: really don't see how you can self-rate as a 5 when it's clear asker is asking for a distinction to be drawn//doesn't affect me personally in the least - but it's very misleading for askers and without more context you can't say you are 100% sure.

  -> That's just my point: I don't believe there IS necessarily a distinction in English. But if you look further in my comments, you'll see that I did offer other options. Sorry if I offended you. If I could, upon further thought, I would lower my rating.
