Het podium heeft een harde afwerking, waarbij de massa van de beplating minimaal 20 kg/m2 bedraagt met een starre bevestiging van de beplating op de onderliggende constructie (om klossen te voorkomen wordt geadviseerd het podium zwaarder uit te voeren, bijvoorbeeld door extra lagen gipsvezelplaat).

the only idea I have is "levelling pieces" - but I don't know if this fits.

clumping, stumping

Explanation:
IMHO, the term is being used as a verb here.

Grote Van Dale: klossen = tijdens het lopen telkens het geluid 'klos' maken, op zware, plompe wijze lopen; klos (tussenwerpsel) = ter nabootsing van het geluid dat iemand maakt die op plompe wijze met zware schoenen of klompen loopt, m.n. over een houten of stenen vloer

Van Dale E-N: klossen = clump > stump, e.g. hij loopt maar wat te klossen = he is just clumping/stumping along

PS: The idea, apparently, is to prevent this clumping or stumping sound by increasing the mass/weight of the stage floor. This may have something to do with changing the acoustic properties of the floor (e.g. resonance parameters) or perhaps simply increasing the contact surface between the floor material and the underlying construction so that less sound is generated.
