Explanation:
In Dutch we refer to these as partieen but in English we just use the terms water and cloud formations (separately) certainly not as parties! I have just checked some of my own books on painting to be certain.

Adela, You could use water area but normally we talk in painting about the water, and the cloud formations (not water formations) as you had supposed.
