agree  Allison Klein: I stand corrected - but I do have to stick with my idiom argument - it's up to Adela but if she wants to keep the idiomatic essence, it should be translated as 'beholder'

agree  writeaway: I spy with my little eye........ well, anyway the eye's have it! :-) But the eye of the beholder does really get my vote-it SO traditional. anything else will sound 'translated'.
