agree  Ken Cox: Supported by Kluwer, and makes sense in the context (blued gudgeon pins would also be possible with insufficient lubrication, but they are part of the rod/piston assembly).\\ no (but the *end* of a shaft can be a 'tap' = gudgeon, journal or pivot))
