Alternatively, you could simply translate it as "Bachelor of Arts". Note that it could also be "Bachelor of Science" or "Bachelor of Engineering", depending on the person's major field.

'kandidaats' moet hier niet tussen aanhalingstekens, maar italic (is niet mogelijk nu).
Volgens het woordenboek van Transword over Hoger Onderwijs: 'kandidaats' examination{NB:nl} Examen ter verkrijging van de graad van kandidaat. {NB:en} Conducted for the last time in 1986. Only those students who had passed the 'kandidaats' examination could sit the 'doctoraal' examination.
