The "kosten" possibly being expenses/costs involving cash disbursements, and the "lasten" possibly referring to depreciation/amortisation, being charges not involving any cash disbursement.

"Lasten" is often translated as charges, but also as expenditure, expenses and even losses, all depending on context. You could certainly translate "Bedrijfskosten" as Operating expenses/costs, and "Bedrijfslasten" as Operating charges" in this P&L a/c.

Hi Jarry,
thanks for your reply. TRhe reaosn I posted this question is because "bedrijfskosten" and "bedrijfslasten" appears to be the same term. What else can the possible mean by "bedrijfslasten". Perhaps "operating charges" ??
