Dutch term or phrase: kadermaatschappij
The text referes to kadermaatschappijen as opposed to maatwerkmaatschappijen. I take this second term to be a company offering a more personal services? So would kadermaatschappij maybe be a generalist company? Or have I totally missed the point??

companies that offer standard services
Explanation:
Your own answer is not so bad as a start. But the opposition is not so much about being generalist/specialist, as having to do with the willingness of a company to listen to their customers and adapt their work plans accordingly.

Most contexts in which maatschappij in the sense of 'company' is used are about construction or property development. The opposition kader-maatwerks seems to refer to companies that either offer standard/generalised packages of whatever it is they are doing, and those that spend lots of time communicating with their clients, adapting their plans, taking heed of the special wishes, desires, whims of their clients.

The best thing I can come up with is the customised vs standard opposition. Companies that offer customised services being the other side of the equation.

Hope this brings some clarity,

Thanks all! I now get the concept - just need to find a neat way to say it. I think may be something like 'standard services companies as opposed to tailored services companies'

holistic society

Explanation:
This term is being coined and I am only guessing as to what the meaning might be. The word kader is often used to denote management and that is because the word literally means "frame" or "scope". Management are the ones who are responsible for the scope or the whole picture. I am guessing that the writer is using the term to denote a society (or a company) which views the whole picture as opposed to a "maatwerk" or "piece work" society (or company) which is stuck in the details. Can't give examples because there aren't any. Am curious as to whether this fits your context.

neutral  xxxjarry: Regardless of the merits of your suggested answer, "maatschappij" is never translated as society, except in the meaning of the community (in which we live). Otherwise it is always translated as 'company'.

management company

Explanation:
One of the meanings of "kader" in Dutch is managerial staff / executive staff. "Hogere kader" = senior management.
