Dutch to English translations [PRO] Business/Commerce (general) | | Dutch term or phrase: kennisdraaischijf | Any ideas for 'kennisdraaischijf'? It's making my head spin :-(
The annual report mentioned doesn't offer any suggestions, but the website claims:
'The mission of the Foundation NLR is to provide expert contributions to activities in aerospace and related fields. NLR independently renders services to government departments and international agencies, aerospace industries and aircraft and spacecraft operators. Customers include various organizations based in the Netherlands, in Europe and elsewhere.' |

| | knowledge clearing house | Explanation: This is often referred to as a knowledge clearing house in English.

\'knowledge hub\' would also be an option, e.g.:
-> \"The knowledge hub is the University of Luton\'s vigorous new unified façade for business and enterprise. The concept is simple: to create a focal point of contact to streamline both existing and new commercial relationships, and then to be a doorway to the huge breadth and depth of University of Luton skills, expertise and resources - both brains and facilities.\"

| Grading comment Saskia's idea of 'knowledge centre' prompted me to think of the idea of 'hub' but the points go to Chris for actually making the suggestion. Think this gets closest to the image in the Dutch. I also liked Jarry's centre of excellence but that term is already used too much elsewhere in the text. Thanks, everyone! 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |

Explanation: I think the 'schijf'is not literal. I think they mean to be the spider in the web for all other parties in this branch.
"The effective use of knowledge is perhaps the most potent of all the weapons we can use in the fight against corruption. The right information in the right hands in the right place and at the right time is a formidable combination. The Knowledge Centre sets out to make necessary knowledge readily available - to activists, policy-makers, journalists, lawyers, parliamentarians, private sector interests, law enforcers and law reformers. It facilitates the drafting of new instruments and the appraisal of reforms proposed by others. "
