Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / polder model | | Dutch term or phrase: collectiviteitsgedachte | This is one of those terms that describes the Dutch mindset, and I'm having a bit of difficulty with an acceptable rendering in English. The context is: because of technicalities, certain categories of employees do not qualify for certain minor benefits under a very complex pension scheme. However, they are still expected to pay the full contributions. The reason cited is "Vanuit de collectiviteitsgedachte moet volgens het pensioenfonds wel premie worden betaald".
I was thinking of something with 'collective responsibility', but I'm a bit doubtful of whether this captures the real meaning...
Can anyone help me out? |

The first thing that comes to my mind reading this text is that it refers to 'principles of solidarity' or '.. (basis of) collectivity'
