| Dutch term or phrase: inbreuk op de garantie | In geval van niet nakoming van de door verkoper gegeven garantie, heeft koper het recht de afgeleverde producten voor rekening en risico van de verkoper te retourneren en betaling op te schorten, onverminderd de overige rechten die koper op grond van het Nederlands recht toekomen. Koper stelt verkoper zo spoedig mogelijk na ontdekking van de inbreuk op de garantie op de hoogte.
I know what "inbreuk op de garantie" MEANS but I'm not sure what the correct/most usual way of phrasing this in English is.
My ideas: After the Purchaser discovers the "infringement of/on the guarantee"/ "breach of the guarantee"/ "violation of the guarantee" or a rewording:
"after the Purchaser discovers that the guarantee has been infringed / violated / breached".
I lean towards the rewording but still don't know whivh of the rewording examples would be more "correct" in English. Like you usually "breach a contract" as opposed to "violating a contract", there must be a word that goes more commonly with "guarantee". (I haven't said warranty because according to Juridisch Lexicon, that is American, not British).
Does anyone have any ideas about how this would commonly be worded in English.
