Thank you to all who answered. Actually some words were forgotten in the sentence--investeerde in (haar vestigingen)--which is why I translated it as 'invested in'.

agree  MoiraB: Asker's interpretation in second part of the note is wrong. It's the 'vestigingen' that accounted for 3 million of the 111 million in sales, as Jarry says. A comma after geneesmiddelen would have made that clearer
