Dutch to English translations [PRO] Science - Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng / Gas Law | | Dutch term or phrase: Graaddagencorrectie | Unfortunately I don't have much context. This is the sentence it was taken from:
Bijlage c: methode van graaddagencorrectie.
What I have found is this:

At least I understand the term now, but I still cannot find the English equivelant.

| | degree-day correction / degree day correction | Explanation: defined as the difference between the inside and outside temperatures of a house. Standard practice uses an indoor temperature of 180 degrees Celsius as the base from which to measure DD, since most buildings do not require heat until the outdoor temperature is between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. The outside temperature for a given day is then defined as the arithmetic mean of the minimum and maximum temperatures. If the minimum and maximum temperatures during a given day were 6 and 14 degrees Celsius, respectively, then the number of DD would be 18-1 0 = 8
