write off 08:55 Jan 9, 2007
It is a term used by Dutch Customs. A ship has to file a summary declaration to Customs, to be checked by the latter and then "written off". I first thought they meant "discharge" but they already use this term for the word "zuiveren". I must admit that it is quite difficult to understand. I am really struggling with it. Dutch Customs themselves use the term " write off against the summary declaration" but this sounds very " translated" to me (I have the feeling they did not know how to translate it themselves). |
