In my incarnation as IT manager the people we hired for certain jobs were in the books as contractors. These people could be freelancers, but where I worked we didnt deal directly with freelancers and other oneman setups, but we went thru orgs like Logica and hired contractors or contract staff. These contractors could be consultants as well - so you hire a consultant as contractor for a very specific issue. A temp as Clem suggests could work but is more frequently used for admin staff. |
