Dutch term or phrase: antimetrisch
Voor dubbel-symmetrische en dubbel-antimetrische profielen behoeft bij centrische druk geen toetsing op torsieknikstabiliteit te zijn uitgevoerd.

A definition in German, for those it might help: antimetrisch: belastet mit symmetrisch angebrachten Lasten, die jedoch eine entgegengesetzte Wirkungsrichtung haben (Bautechnik)

Hi Chris. My German is not perfect either, but good enough to conclude that the definition does indeed match the definition given in my reference. It reads something like: 'loaded with symmetrically applied loads which, however, have an opposite effect'. That is exactly what you see in the left diagram in the reference. The force P is applied symmetrically, but in opposite directions, which cancels out or 'neutralises' the bending moment at the crown C, leaving a downward shearing force which, if big enough, will cause the crown to collapse. The points to note are: symmetrical AND opposite effect. That is not necessarily the case with a purely symmetrical load.

antisymmetric

Explanation:
"antimetric" is not common in English; I am not quite certain how a "doubly antisymmetric" shape would look, but I guess that two angles built together to form a "star" shape would qualify.

Asker: Thanks asptech, I was guessing this was the same as "antisymmetric" indeed. However, the ref for "antimetric" Jack provided seems to make sense, too. Do you have any thoughts on that ref? Thanks!

Asker: Thanks Jack! Are you able to confirm that the definition given in your ref matches the German definition? (my German is too onzeker to confirm :)
