Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Education / Pedagogy | | Dutch term or phrase: efficiency- en doelmatigheidsslag | I'm translating a text about education and I'm not sure how to translate "efficiency- en doelmatigheidsslag", which is one of the instruments used to improve education.
I have seen kwaliteitsslag translated as "quality level" (EU sites), and "quality check" (previous proz question), but am not really sure whether "efficiency and suitability check" is right here.

| Grading comment Thank you everyone! Harry's explanation and Dave's comments were extremely helpful to me, but I went for Tina's translation. The definition given for "drive" in the OED matches Harry's definition of -slag, but I just thought that "drive" was a nice translation.

Above references intended only to demonstrate the use of 'drive' in combination with 'efficiency' as a possible translation of 'efficiency-slag'. (The combination results in about 48,400 google hits.) Adding 'functionality' as a translation of 'doelmatigheid' is then just one step further along this path of reasoning.
