Social Sciences - Education / Pedagogy / University level term
Dutch term or phrase: afstudeertraject
This is in the context of university guidelines for 4th year students.
Example:In het begin van het afstudeertraject (dus of aan het begin van de stage, of aan het begin van het afstudeerproject, afhankelijk van waarmee de student het afstudeertraject begint).
I thought of undergraduate program, although I've had a suggestion of using 'graduation route.

Suggestions welcome.

final year programme
Explanation:
The final year programme in this case consists of an internship and a final project/final thesis. If necessary you could establish whether the project is in fact a thesis.

honours year(s)

Explanation:
It depends - as so many things - on which country, but generally speaking in the UK and perhaps Australia, a student specialises in their honours year (or years if it's a 4-year course), e.g.

"The Honours program provides a final undergraduate year that is a very different experience to earlier years. There are fewer formal classes and more individual work. The honours year provides an opportunity to specialise in an area of particular interest. "

Asker: I don't want to use something too specific to the UK or Aus. My guess is that any English speaking student in this Dutch university should be able to relate to this translation.

neutral  DutchConnection: Agree with asker. Honours degree is not specified in Dutch phrase. Ordinary/general degree courses may also involve an internship and final project or thesis. Programme is commonly used abbreviation for 'degree programme', see note under my answer.

-> Fair enough - but as I said this applies to the UK/AUS/ZA, where an ordinary degree does not lead to any specialisation (mainly because it's a year shorter than the honours programmes).
