management is too high-you're making this more complicated than it has to be imho. It's training for general office skills. Keep the Dutch and just add the English in ( ). That's what is done most of the time-you can only give an equivalent in En.

Thank you all for your contributions so far...

However, I'm still looking for an answer that will clearly set Kantoor apart from the optional and additional year of Office administration.

People from Kantoor don't necessarily become secretaries. They could, but there is another study called Secretariaat-Talen, which I think was specifically designed for the job of secretaries.

Or do clerics and secretaries really have to know about Law, Accountancy and Economics next to administrative skills?

I was also thinking of Office Management...?

People, can we please make a difference between the office and office administration. Apparently, it also possible to subsequently (after having studied Office) study Office Administration (see website supra).

So, it is a bit misleading to state in your curriculum that you've studied Office Administration (which requires an extra year) when you've "only" studied Office.

what sort of school? is it a course preparing for higher education or for going straight into a job? ie is it 'handelswetenschappen' (sciences économiques) or is it secretarial training? Fwiw, seems more colloquial speak than official

Well, they study Economics, Accountancy, (basic) Law,...And additionally they also get some typing courses. Hope that helps.

Ik studeer Kantoor aan het Koninklijk Technisch Atheneum.

The context is: vocational schools in Belgium. They have different study fields. One of them being Kantoor.

I know,...it's not an easy one :-)
