Both "leerwerkomgeving" & "leerwerkvorm" are problematic for me here... thanks for any inspiration you might have!

continuing workplace education format
Explanation:
The common way of referring to this kind of education or training seems to be 'continuing education in the workplace' (in short: 'continuing workplace education').
Hence I would personally translate 'leerwerkvormen' as 'continuing workplace education formats'.
Likewise 'continuing workplace education environment' for 'leerwerkomgeving'.

While traditional needs assessments identify educational content, generally these assessments do not measure the varied learning styles of the audience. Individual practitioners can use the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory to help identify learning styles and, based on that identification, select continuing education activities where learning will be most efficient and effective. A review of the Myers-Briggs typology and relevant literature indicates that learners with varied learning styles benefit from quite different learning activities. The traditional large continuing education meeting, for example, is well suited for some learners, not for others. Health professionals will find it easier to stay current in their fields if they select appropriate, learner-specific modes of continuing education. Professional relationships may also benefit if professionals in the same practice environment understand and appreciate that different continuing education formats are necessary for people with different learning styles.

Thanks Kitty, this fits into my text like a charm. (I left out "continuing" though, because it's a one-off thing).

stay current work environment / permanent education in the workplace

Explanation:
Je moet misschien zelf een uitdrukking vinden als er geen standaard uitdrukking voor is. Dit zijn maar suggesties voor een richting die je op kan.
Stay current while you work, program. Zoiets?

on-the-job training/apprenticeship program

Explanation:
It depends a little on where you are in the world and on the circumstances. If a student/apprentice is also going to school part-time or part of the year, it can be called a work/study program. If they are simply learning in the workplace, it may be called an on-the-job training program or apprenticeship program. For 'leerwerkomgeving', you can simply replace the word program with environment.

Sorry Mick, I hadn't understood that from the context, nor have I ever heard of special programs for it. Isn't constant learning a necessity in any work environment today?

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hello Tina, thank you for your reply! However I should note in this case that it' s not about young people starting somewhere: it's more of a life-long learning thing, people keeping their knowledge base up to date.
