Education / Pedagogy
Dutch term or phrase: hogeschool voor economisch en grafisch onderwijs
The "grafisch" is throwing me off. I don't know what a "graphical" school is.

Any suggestions?

College for Economics and Graphics Media
Explanation:
I would suggest that you don't actually translate the name of the school. Keep the Dutch with an explanation in English. grafisch has to do with printing/printing technology etc.

I chose Graphic Media because it is basically as vague as the Dutch.

A hogeschool in Dutch is university level. but a college because it is more restricted in what it offers. For instance:

The Hogeschool voor Muziek en Dans (HMD) consists of the Rotterdams Conservatorium and the Rotterdamse Dansacademie. The school is the largest educational institute of its kind in the Netherlands with approximately 1,000 students from all over the world.

A hogeschool is not necessarily a teacher\'s college at all.

The universities of professional education, known in Dutch as hogescholen, are more practically oriented and prepare students for specific careers.

neutral  Ton Remkes: Most impressive documenation! But what do we do with it, if you stubbornly refuse to admit that the understanding of Dutch natives could, perhaps, on very rare ocasions, be helpful???
1 hr
-> you always say exactly the same thing: only the Dutch can really know Dutch and naturally English too. It's not new but it is oh so annoying to hear all the time. http://www.proz.com/topic/21666

neutral  dimardam: "economisch" - probably better translated "business" in this context
2 hrs

agree  Mirjam Bonne-Nollen: but Business Studies rather than Economics, maybe. I agree entirely with your suggestion of not actually translating the name of the school. But hey, I'm not a native speaker! That reference for Tom Remkes - a bit of a cheap shot?.....
3 hrs
-> Mr Remkes generally objects to an answer with as main argument that because someone isn't Dutch, they can't possible know. I am a native English speaker and frankly am getting very tired of seeing this said to others or being on the receiving end.

agree  xxxjarry: To Mr Remkes, Sir, I would say: A confrontational attitude seldom if ever works. The more so because Dutch native speakers should be aware of their (often significant) limitations when translating or suggesting answers to questions in a foreign language.
