Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / low voltage electrical installation
Dutch term or phrase: klemkast
Taken from an inspection report of a low voltage electrical installation (installation failed the inspection).

Eexi kringen moet men duidelijk kunnen onderscheiden van andere. Zie bv.het gebruik van blauwe kabels en blauwe klemmen. Zie oa. - Klemkasten waar zowel blauwe als andere kabels in toekomen. De EEx junctiebox JBS3 gebruikt als EExi-box.

I've come up with terminal housing. Any other suggestions? TIA

terminal box, terminal cabinet
Explanation:
Terminal housing is fine IMHO, but terminal box or cabinet would also do the job, I think.

Thanks to all who responded. All options were possible, but I've gone for my original thought as, as Jack suggested, it covers any ambiguities. Had thought of junction box too, but that is already used elsewhere in the document.

agree  Ken Cox: probably a box, but it could be a cabinet.

-> Thanks, Ken. Asker's own suggestion would cover any ambiguities and might be the best solution here.

junction box

Explanation:
Een (zeer voor de hand liggend) alternatief.

Overigens, als het gaat over EEx-systemen (explosieveilig), is een 'doos' (met een geschroefd deksel) aannemelijker dan een 'kast' (met een deur).

agree  Textpertise: I opt for junction box rather than terminal box because we do not have any indication in the text that this is a terminal (i.e. at one or other end of the circuitry) and not an intermediate housing where leads need to be joined by clamping.
