Thanks for the suggestions so far, but I'm looking for the name of the machine that takes swipe cards, not the cards themselves - and those machines basically take away value from the card. "Swipe machine" seems a bit too "loose" as you also use swipe machines for credit cards and opening doors and then it has a different meaning. The important part is that the card is in the machine and the machine takes value off the card. A bit like a "chip knip" in Dutch, where you load your cards with money from your bank account and use it to pay in shops.

In het Engels heet de waarde die je op een kaart hebt, het aantal "credits", dus het aantal "credits" wordt verminderd naarmate je de kaart gebruikt.
