Tech/Engineering - Engineering: Industrial / Petrochemicals | | Dutch term or phrase: aangezien ... er verhoogde ethyleenverliezen naar benzinegas zouden zijn | All the context I have:
Sectie xxx van de [design specifications], stelde dat de [piece of equipment] zou kunnen opereren met of zonder de [other piece of equipment]. Het verlies van de [other piece of equipment] zou echter een economische impact hebben aangezien er ethyleencapaciteit verloren zou gaan en er verhoogde ethyleenverliezen naar benzinegas zouden zijn.
They are talking about whether this piece of equipment will function if this other piece of equipment happens to fail. This is saying this piece of equipment should still function if the other one fails, but there would be an economic impact since there would be losses of ethylene capacity and ethylene. what I am interested in is the last part starting with "aangezien." Does this make sense: "...since there would be lost ethylene capacity and there would be increased ethylene losses to benzene gas." I have no idea whether ethylene can be lost to benzene gas. Is that what it says? |

Asker: Thank you, if I understand correctly, you are saying that the following would be a translation of the phrase in question: "as ... there would be lost ethylene capacity and there would be increased ethylene losses to benzene gas." I just don't want to be completely off track...
Asker: I mean, as long as it is at least grammatically correct. Advice on chemistry also welcome, but not required. :)
