Can anyone suggest a good term for "onderschreiding". Please see context below. Many thanks!

Boven de ingestelde kastemperatuur dient de aan deze afdeling gekoppelde belichtingsgroep uitgeschakeld te worden. Via zone kan bij *onderschreiding* van de kastemperatuur de belichting weer aangeschakeld worden.

underrun

Explanation:
I agree with Dave, although his solution requires a bit of creative thinking (in the sense of: falling below what?). This could be a reasonable work-around, I think.

Example: If the greenhouse temperature underruns, the lighting can be switched on again using 'zone'. [or perhaps: zoning]

Of course Kenneth's suggestion could also be used in this way: If the greenhouse temperature undershoots...

Compact Oxford Dictionary: to underrun = run, flow or pass beneath.

neutral  Dave Calderhead: underruns, shortfalls, etc. seem to me to be more financial/economically oriented words usually associated with budgets and the like IMHO

agree  Harry Borsje: actually, in this electronic control context I'd prefer undershoot vs overshoot (thanks for reminding me!)

agree  Ken Cox: 'undershoot' or 'fall below' will both work, but the text has to be reworded in English (comment for the asker; you don't need to be told)
