Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general)
Dutch term or phrase: dochtercalque
Dochtercalques worden gemaakt van zowel tekeningen die reeds op calque staan als van tekeningen op een witdruk. In beide gevallen

It seems odd to translate this as daugther calque or daugther tracing? Is there a better way?
TT&V
direct copy
Explanation:
A dochtercalque is a copy that is made directly from the original, a first generation copy. "Direct copy" might be a good alternative in English, but 1st generation copy might be OK, but I don't know if that is an English expression.

agree  Ken Cox: IMO first-generation copy is a good choice if the intention is to distinguish between 'original copies' and 'copies of copies'
