I think Kenneth may be right about these symbols being used to mark changes in a document. In that case, 'change marks' might be an option and I wouldn't worry about these marks actually being triangles.

agree  Ken Cox: Post-grading: if the subject is drawings rather than text documents, the change marks may well be triangles and 'symbol' would be appropriate.
