Explanation:
This would be the general term (if you absolutely want/need to stress that it reacts to the light level *outside*, there is some use on the net of the term twilight switch, but I doubt if that's a native term).

N.B. a dimmer switch is used to regulate the intensity of lights and does not respond to the 'dimming of the light'

Explanation:
Volgens mij schrijft men in het Nederlands dat -ing veel te vaak (onder invloed van het Duits misschien?). In het woordenboek vindt je wel schemerschakelaar = dimmer switch

agree  Lucinda: Henk heeft gelijk. Het is eingelijk 'schemerschakelaar'

  -> Kan allebei. Maar waarschijnlijk wordt hier toch een lichtgevoelige schakelaar (schakelaar inclusief lichtvoeler) bedoeld, die het licht inschakelt zodra buiten de lichtintensiteit beneden een bepaald niveau daalt.
