Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general)
Dutch term or phrase: aanstralen
For context please see: http://www.decorad.nl/producten.php?automatische-droger&werk...

On proz.com I found that one translation of 'aanstralen' is 'sand blasting'. But I don't think that fits here..

English translation:infrared drying / ultraviolet curing
Explanation:
je hebt denk ik twee antwoorden nodig één voor drogen (dry) en één voor uitharden (cure)

In a publication about infrared drying [1] it was shown that faster drying speeds result in less indirect activities of professional painters. In the same publication it was pointed out that if it is possible to work continuously, even in colder and more humid climates, more working days a year are obtained [2].

Due to future legislation, professional painters are obliged to use paints with a lower solvent content in the near future. If water borne paints will be commonly used, the process of film formation should be controlled due to the fact that film formation of water borne paints is much more critical to that of solvent borne paints. For professional painters, a combination of infrared drying and curing with ultraviolet light could be a possibility to enhance the drying of their paint systems.

The DECORAD concept is not just another type of paint and drying and curing equipment: the way to approach to painting will be different. Care will be taken to communicate the concept and developments to professional painters. Future field trials will be carried out to stimulate this way of thinking.

It fits perfectly - IR (heat) irradiation helps evaporate water, UV irradiation for hardening of that stuff.
