I thought about that one too, but I thought Michael asked this question because 'counter-test' was way too obvious and, in fact, counter-test was what came to mind first :-)
How about "counter-test"? Most g-hits come from over the counter tests or tests of counters like counting devices (e.g. Geiger counters), but there are some counter-tests in our sense:
"The first sample shall be for laboratory testing, the other two samples shall be kept for use in eventual counter-tests as specified under Articles 47 through 50 of this law."

but this is mixed up with scientific controls (positive and negative controls / control tests) and other kinds of 'control tests' not directly, or not at all, related to verifying the correctness of previous test results, so it would seem
