I am trying to find a suitable English translation for enkelzijdig / dubbelzijdig aangedreven'. These terms appear in a maintenace agreement as follows:

• 1 Generator (Gen5) enkelzijdig aangedreven, watergekoeld

• 1 Generator (Gen6) dubbelzijdig via SSS-koppelingen aangedreven, watergekoeld

I am not 100% sure about 'single-driven' and 'double-driven' (nor about 'unilaterally-powered' and 'bilaterally-powered'). Any suggestions?

But tne more common expression in English is '(with) single-ended or double-ended drive.'

Single-ended drive means the generator shaft is driven from only one end; double-ended drive means it can be driven from either end (the shaft extends from both ends of the housing and can alternatively be driven from either end).
