Wikipedia reminds me that the Zeeuws meisje advertised one of unilever's margarine brands for which you wouldn't pay a cent too much. All that springs to mind is frugal, or even miserly, which of course completely loses the reference to Zeeuws meisje. Any thoughts?
many thanks

modest, step-by-step
Explanation:
I don't think you can keep anything resembling 'Zeeuws meisje'. I would suggest 'modest' or 'step-by-step' or even both.
