After much consideration of all the options presented to me, I finally decided to go with: XXX reveals both the perception and the facts of safety. The reason I opted for fact instead of reality is because reference was made to facts and safety in several other sentences within this context. I do feel that Textpertise was instrumental in coming up with the most appropriate phrase. Thank you.

IMO if you want to change adjectives into nouns, (gevoelsmatig -> perception/ werkelijke -> reality), then "perception" is OK (in this context) but "werkelijke" should be translated as "facts" in this context.

"The reality of safety" expresses "safety is a/our reality!"
No more no less. And that is not what is meant here

Like the reality of unemployment or the reality of sunshine

"werkelijke" in the Dutch sentence means "feitelijke"
"de werkelijke veiligheid" has been constructed on the basis of collected data: facts

Perception, when contrasted with reality, also implies the whole complex of fears and anxieties and expectations which influences what the person believes he will experience but which may not necessarily be backed up by the facts. I think that whole constellation is exactly what gevoelsmatic means.
