Bus/Financial - Finance (general) | | Dutch term or phrase: inhaalinvesteringen | In an annual report for a large Dutch organisation: "De verbetering van het operationele resultaat wordt naar verwachting negatief beïnvloed door de uitgaven ten behoeve van een serie noodzakelijke inhaalinvesteringen."
I am specifically looking for an American English translation of "inhaalinvesteringen." The closest concept I have been able to find is modernization/renewal investments. Any ideas? |

In my opinion, these investments are those that should have been done long time ago, but weren't because of whatever reason (market worries, lack of cash etc.) I do not know if there is any good term for this in English, so you might want to describe it.
