Dutch term or phrase: laten elkaar doen
Het gaat om het eind van de volgende zin: "X en haar zoon Y zagen elkaar wel op het werk elke dag, maar zij lieten elkaar doen".
Ik weet niet of dat kan helpen, maar het ging niet goed tussen X en Y en ze maakten veel ruzie.
Ik smeek jullie om hulp! :-)

leave each other alone
Explanation:
It's not the most common way of saying it, but it means they do not have much contact, don't bother each other, leave each other alone.

Sorry, it should be past tense of course: they left each other alone.

let each other get on with it

Explanation:
Same meaning as Tina's suggestion but it picks up on the "doen" part of the Dutch expression. It is also a bit colloquial, as is the Dutch original.
