Dutch to English translations [PRO] Marketing - General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters / interview / newspaper article | | Dutch term or phrase: in het leven op de apenrots | Phrase appears in a newspaper article (interview with a marketing manager), in the following sentence:
'Hij is iemand die gepokt en gemazeld is in het leven op de apenrots.'
Translation: 'He is someone who has been tried and tested ...'
Would anyone be able to give me a suggestion for 'in het leven op de apenrots'? I cannot find a reference to it.
Is it a metaphor playing with living in a crowded area?
Many thanks in advance! |

39 mins confidence: peer agreement (net): +1 in making a career for himself
Explanation: Dieren- & managementmetaforen

Explanation: rather a cliche (as is 'het leven op de apenrots'), but it retains the metaphor
