Dutch to English translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Government / Politics | | Dutch term or phrase: planologisch (beschermd) | What's the best way to interpret "planologisch" here? at the planning level, at the planning stage? EHS = ecologische hoofdstructuur (National Ecological Network), a network of high-quality, protected nature areas. This is a report on the activities of the Netherlands Court of Audit, which consistently finds lack of coordination gets in the way of effective policy implementation.

| | (protected) on a planological basis | Explanation: Sticking my neck out here, since most general dictionaries do not (yet) have an entry for 'planological'. There are more than 700 google hits for the term, however, and Graham P. Oxtoby FIL, a well-known and respected terminologist, does have entries for ''planologic' and 'planological' in his 'Woordenboek Milieukunde & Milieutechniek'. Language evolves, however, and I wouldn't have any scruples about using the term here.

European Union regulations apply at all times, both in situations involving co-funding from the EU and as regards the general need for EU conformity (testing of state aid and the competition test). The Government expects provinces and municipalities, in consultation with water boards, to take action where necessary to ensure appropriate **planological protection** for the Agenda for a Living Countryside – Page national objectives (e.g. for the National Route Networks and the Recreation around the Town initiative). In some cases planological protection will also be needed in connection with international agreements (e.g. for the National Ecological Network).

By this stream valleys can get the necessary **planological protection**. The basis for the necessary green modifications to the regional planning already lies in the provincial RS (spatial master plan).

| Grading comment I think the planological protection in your examples might work, or perhaps even just planning protection. Thanks! 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
