As already mentioned, this is the proportion of orders booked resulting from quotes made. Order tracking software usually allows you to classify orders as 'booked', 'pending' or 'lost'.

agree  Olly Pekelharing: This suggests the number of successful bids only... I though it might mean the total number of bids brought out, not just the number of successful bids. I thought Chris' suggestion left both options open, but I see it means the same thing.

  -> I fail to see your point here. The 'bid success rate' is a win ratio (cf. also bid-win ratio), usually expressed as a percentage, just like the 'bid hit rate' (cf. Chris' answer below) that you have graded with an 'agree' ....??? / Thanks for your reply!
