Dutch term or phrase: dag op de hei
"De dag op de hei verloopt op een prettige manier, Wim heeft het idee dat hij wat binding heeft weten te creëren tussen de leden onderling."

Seemingly a Dutch phrase for which I cannot find anything.
Any ideas?
TIA

agree  Harry Borsje: I think the original notion of seclusion, being away from any (not just work) disturbing influences, might have to be put in (maybe by referring to the guy who came up with the idea and spent 40 days in the desert ;-)

agree  writeaway: this answer allows the day to be whatever it is in the firm in question. Over-specifying without more context could lead to problems.

agree  Siobhan Schoonhoff-Reilly: and with writeaway.

agree  MoiraB: team away day or team-building away day also get hits, but since team building may only be one of the objectives, this leaves it nice and open. Rest of the sentence makes it clear anyway.

team building outing

Explanation:
I think they mean here a day out to do some team building, but in a slightly ironic way. In Holland a day out with work is very common, so you could make something of it like a "team building outing" or a "day trip with work" if you don't want to use the word team building.
