Dutch term or phrase: detectiefase

HR context. Would 'discovery phase' be something perhaps?

'Tijdens de detectiefase bepaalt Security X samen met de Luchthaven van Barcelona welk het gevraagde profiel is dat van toepassing is op de site.'

This comes from a chapter dealing with the 'profielbepaling' of different types of security guards.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I don't know, Michael. The words I associate with "detectie" in this context are: "aftasten, orienteren" (exploratory), "inventariseren, vaststellen" (assessment), "doorlichten" (investigative), "identificeren, in kaart brengen" (map, define, identify).

To me it sounds like a vogue word in this context.

I imagine that in the "detectiefase" Security X and Barcelona Airport focus on the "bedrijfssituatie, de sector, de inhoud van de bewakingsopdracht" by exchanging information, looking at the physical circumstances in which guards have to work, regulations and so on.

Sounds like "investigating, mapping, analysing, assessing, exploring, defining the situation" but not "detecting" :-)

Tijdens de detectiefase STELLEN de IT-consultants van Novell en haar partners VAST wat de bedrijfsbehoeften voor de oplossing zijn. Ook definiëren zij de projectomvang op hoog niveau door de zakelijke drijfveren en vereisten te IDENTIFICEREN. Op deze manier ontstaat een context aan de hand waarvan een oplossing op hoog niveau kan worden gestructureerd waarin de grenswaarden en, belangrijker nog, de omvang van het project worden vastgesteld. Detectiefase
Via hoorzittingen met de administratie en de organisaties willen wij de exacte problemen op het terrein DETECTEREN (in this context it simply means "vaststellen" (or: uncover, unearth, dig up, if you like; all they do is ask questions, listen and record the answers). Ook de individuele burger krijgt een kans een inbreng te doen in het debat en zijn persoonlijke ervaring te formuleren. Dit kan via een internetsite waar hij of zij onze werkzaamheden kan volgen en interactief kan meepraten. Er moet ook een algemene oproep van het Vlaams Parlement komen die kan toelaten dat de niet-internetgebruikers schriftelijk kunnen reageren. Er wordt eveneens gevraagd dat een vertegenwoordiger van de Raad van State, het Rekenhof, de juridische dienst van het parlement en de Vlaamse administratie permanent onze werkzaamheden bijwonen met het oog op aanbevelingen inzake rechtmatigheidtoetsen, juridisch-technische kwaliteit en coördinatie. Om de vereenvoudiging te bekijken in samenhang met de lokale besturen en de provincies, worden eveneens vertegenwoordigers van de Vereniging van Vlaamse Steden en Gemeenten (VVSG) en de Vereniging van
Vlaamse Provincies (VVP) permanent uitgenodigd om onze werkzaamheden bij te wonen en voorstellen in te dienen. Last but not least willen wij met de Vlaamse ombudsman samenwerken.

Jaarlijks worden mogelijke kwaliteits- en rechtmatigheidstekorten
OPGESPOORD ( in this context it is about analysing and investigating things) op zowel het niveau van alle instellingen als het niveau van de organieke eenheden. In deze eerste detectiefase wordt een beperkt aantal gegevens betrokken over de opbrengsten, signalen over mogelijke problemen, informatie uit de jaarstukken, inclusief de financiële, en informatie over het bestuurlijk vermogen (governance). Op grond daarvan wordt een
selectie gemaakt van instellingen en eenheden waar geen verdere ANALYSE en ONDERZOEK nodig is.

Daarna vindt voor de resterende instellingen en organieke eenheden een diepgaander ANALYSE plaats. Deze tweede detectiefase vindt plaats door een verdere ANALYSE van de opbrengsten en de jaarstukken, de kwaliteit van het bestuur en het geheugen van de toezichthouder, dat wil zeggen bij de inspectie bekende informatie uit ANALYSES en ONDERZOEKEN in 2006- 2007. Ook kunnen in deze fase andere informatiebronnen benut worden, waarbij echter ook in deze fase alleen informatie gebruikt wordt die algemeen beschikbaar is.

Asker: Thanks, Barend. The site is in fact not a website, but a work site, and the 'profielbepaling' concerns the hiring of security guards (actually referred to as 'agenten)'. A bit more context: 'Het is logisch dat er een verschil is tussen een agent die instaat voor de bewaking van eengrote industriële site en de agent die actief is op de luchthaven.' + 'Het profiel is afhankelijk van (...): de specifieke bedrijfssituatie, de sector, de inhoud van de bewakingsopdracht, (...)'
