Dutch term or phrase: Beleggers vs. Investeerders
"Wij zijn beleggers, geen investeerders."

There is a fundamental difference between these two terms in Dutch. I'm not so sure on how to distinguish between the two in English.

Is there another distinction besides "investor" that I can use here?

Explanation:
investeer = someone who puts capital in a business (could be for instance as preference shares, debentures, and yes even as shareholder.) In short a provider of risk capital.
beleggers = someone who buys shares in a business on the market.
so my suggestion is: investeerder = risk capital provider
beleggers = investor
