Dutch term or phrase: Niet of gewijzigde toegepaste afgeleide gegevens
I'm unsure as to what is meant exactly in this title

Non-applied or modified (or do they mean applied in a modified way?) applied derived data.
A previous title was: "Toepassing van afgeleide gegevens"
The accumulation of past participles used as adjectives makes it difficult to find a decent translation.

I am going to use a combination of both phrasings. Thank you all for your input, especially the techies for their very elaborate and logical contribution!

neutral  Harry Borsje: IMO only correct when the -e in gewijzigde is a typo; now it refers to derived data and not to application (should be clear from the rest of the text)

  -> Thanks, Harry, take your point - I am reading it as the fact that the derived data is not applied or the way it is applied has changed

agree  Jack den Haan: With derived data ;-) Agree with Harry too, but I would take that "e" as a typo, or rather a downright grammatical error. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. // No problem, Dave!

Explanation:
Further to my peer response to Dave:

I'm an engineer by training, not a linguist. But to my mind, the source expression can be interpreted in two ways:

1. niet- of gewijzigd-toegepaste {afgeleide gegevens}

that is:
niet-toegepaste of gewijzigd-toegepaste {afgeleide gegevens}

schematically:
niet-toegepaste of gewijzigd-toegepaste A

or:

2. niet of gewijzigde {toegepaste afgeleide gegevens}

that is:
niet of gewijzigde {toegepaste afgeleide gegevens}

schematically:
niet of gewijzigde B

which in turn would mean:
niet B of gewijzigde B

"niet B" would be nonsense, unless you interpret that as a Boolean expression.

Since the source is title, the correct meaning should follow from the further context, of course. In my opinion, however, the only reasonable interpretation is the first, i.e. niet-toegepaste of gewijzigd-toegepaste {afgeleide gegevens}. That would imply a grammatical error in the source expression, as Harry remarked, which then should have read: "niet of gewijzigd toegepaste afgeleide gegevens", or preferably even "niet- of gewijzigd-toegepaste afgeleide gegevens". Hope this helps...

neutral  Harry Borsje: from one techie to another: I think you missed a valid option (not that it matters either way) niet-toegepaste A OR gewijzigde toegepaste A => niet toegepaste A OR gewijzigde B

  -> Yes, thanks Harry, I did. But in that case a comma following 'gewijzigde' would not exactly have been misplaced. PS: We'd better stop this before we get kicked out of this forum because everyone thinks we've gone completely nuts ;-)

Derived data used in modified form or not used

Explanation:
This may be effectively the same as Dave's suggestion (i'm not quite sure), but it at least gives you an alternative wording. My take (as a non-native Dutch speaker but with a relevant background) is that the 'e' at the end of 'gewijzigde' is a mistake (or typo, to use the popular euphemism) and the text should be written niet- of gewijzgd-toegepaste afgeleide gegevens.

agree  Jack den Haan: Does indeed boil down to the same as Daves's suggestion, I think, but is more lucid!
